Please read these terms carefully before engaging our services. By contacting us or leaving a watch in our care, you agree to the terms set out below.
1. Definitions
In these Terms, the following words have the meanings shown below:
- "Bua Luang", "we", "us", "our" — the watch repair and restoration workshop at 250 Wireless Road, Lumphini, Bangkok 10330, Thailand.
- "You", "the client" — the individual or organisation entrusting a watch to our care or using this website.
- "Service" — any watch repair, restoration, cleaning, or related work we carry out.
- "Watch" or "item" — any timepiece, movement, case, strap, bracelet, or related component left with us.
- "Agreement" — these Terms together with any written assessment or work plan we provide.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By submitting an enquiry through our website, delivering a watch to our workshop, or authorising us in writing to proceed with a service, you confirm that:
- You are at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into an agreement.
- You have the right to authorise work on the item you are bringing to us (it is yours or you have the owner's express permission).
- You have read and accept these Terms.
3. Service Description
We offer watch repair and restoration services in Thailand, including:
- Movement clean and service
- Strap, bracelet, and case care
- Full antique watch restoration
Services are available to clients in Thailand and, where practical, by arrangement for international shipments at the client's risk and cost. We reserve the right to decline work where a watch is in a condition that makes repair inadvisable, or where parts cannot be sourced.
4. Your Responsibilities
- Provide accurate information about the item and its history when asked.
- Disclose any known damage, previous repairs, or non-original parts.
- Respond to our communications within a reasonable time so work can proceed.
- Collect your watch within 30 days of being notified it is ready. Items not collected after 90 days may be subject to storage fees.
- Not use our website or communications for any unlawful, misleading, or harmful purpose.
5. Intellectual Property
All content on this website — including text, images, design, and code — is the property of Bua Luang or its licensors. You may view and print pages for personal reference only. You may not reproduce, redistribute, or commercially exploit any content without our written permission.
Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of your watch or its design to us.
6. Payment Terms
All prices are quoted in Thai Baht (฿). Our standard service prices are:
- Movement Clean & Service — from ฿4,500
- Strap, Bracelet & Case Care — from ฿8,100
- Full Antique Watch Restoration — from ฿14,800
Final pricing is confirmed in writing before work commences. Additional costs for parts or unforeseen complexity will be communicated to you for approval before proceeding.
Payment is due upon collection of the completed watch unless otherwise agreed in writing. We accept cash and major bank transfers. Your watch will be held until payment is settled in full.
Refunds: if we are unable to complete a service to an acceptable standard, we will discuss a fair resolution with you, which may include a partial or full refund of amounts paid. We do not offer refunds for work already completed and accepted by you.
7. Service-Specific Terms
Assessment & Work Plan
Every service begins with an initial assessment. For straightforward jobs, this is brief. For restorations, we will provide a written assessment and work plan before any work begins. You must approve this plan in writing before we proceed.
Turnaround Times
Estimated turnaround times — typically a few weeks for a movement service, a week or two for case and strap work, and several weeks to a few months for restorations — are given in good faith. They are estimates, not commitments. Complex work, sourcing of rare parts, or discovery of additional issues may extend the time needed. We will keep you informed.
Parts
Where original parts cannot be sourced, we will discuss alternatives with you before fitting anything. For antique restorations, hand-made or period-appropriate parts may be used where agreed.
Post-Service Wear
A watch that has been serviced should keep better time. Normal wear and tear, user-inflicted damage, or external impact after collection are outside the scope of our service and not covered.
8. Disclaimers
- We do not offer absolute assurances of specific accuracy results for all watches; outcomes depend on the age and condition of the movement.
- For very old or heavily damaged pieces, full function may not be restorable regardless of the work applied.
- We provide information and guidance in plain language, not as formal horological certification.
- Website content is for informational purposes and may not reflect every scenario or specification.
9. Limitation of Liability
We take great care with every watch left in our hands. However, our total liability to you for any claim arising from our services shall not exceed the amount you paid us for the specific service in question.
We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of sentimental value, market value fluctuations, or any losses arising from delays in completing a service.
In the rare event of accidental damage caused by us, we will discuss a fair remedy in good faith, which may include repair, a contribution toward replacement, or a refund of fees paid. This does not affect your statutory rights under Thai consumer protection law.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify Bua Luang against any claim, loss, or expense arising from your breach of these Terms or from inaccurate information you provided to us — for example, failing to disclose that a watch is not yours to authorise work on.
11. Cancellation & Termination
You may cancel a pending service before substantive work has commenced by notifying us in writing. If work has already begun, you will be asked to cover the cost of labour and any parts sourced or prepared up to that point.
We may decline to continue or complete a service if we discover the item was reported stolen, if you provide materially false information, or if continuing the work would be technically inadvisable. In such cases, we will return the watch and charge only for work done to date.
12. Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of Thailand. If a dispute arises, we ask that you contact us first so we can try to resolve it informally and promptly.
If informal resolution is not possible, any dispute shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Bangkok, Thailand. Nothing in this clause limits your rights under Thai consumer protection legislation.
13. General Provisions
- Entire agreement: These Terms, together with any written assessment or work plan, constitute the full agreement between us in relation to a service.
- Severability: If any provision is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full effect.
- No waiver: Failure to enforce any right does not constitute a waiver of that right.
- Assignment: You may not assign any rights or obligations under these Terms without our written consent. We may assign our rights as part of a business transfer.
- Notices: Communications from you to us should be sent to [email protected] or to our workshop address.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. If you have an active service arrangement with us at the time of a change, the Terms in place when you authorised the work will continue to apply to that arrangement.
