My grandfather's Omega had not run for ten years. I was nervous to hand it over, but from the first conversation I felt it was in careful hands. They explained everything clearly and sent a message when a small part needed replacing — they waited for my agreement before continuing. The watch now runs better than I can remember.

I brought in a vintage Seiko I bought at a weekend market — I liked it but it was losing about three minutes a day. The assessment came back quickly with a clear explanation and a fair quote. It took a little under three weeks and came back running within a few seconds a day. The written report they included was a nice touch.

The strap on my husband's watch had cracked and the case was showing quite a few marks from years of wear. I was not sure how much of it could be fixed. They suggested a new leather strap and offered two finishing options for the case — brushed or polished. We chose a lighter brush finish and the result is really lovely. Sensible price too.

I came to Bua Luang with my great-grandmother's pocket watch — a small Swiss piece from the 1920s with a broken balance staff. I had been told by two other places that parts were unavailable and nothing could be done. Here they made the part from scratch. The watch now runs. I am genuinely astonished.

Reliable, honest, and clearly very knowledgeable. I brought in an automatic that had been serviced elsewhere the year before but was already losing time again. They found the previous service had used incorrect lubricants. Their service has held for eight months now. I wish I had come here first.

I brought in a bracelet watch that had a loose link and a scratched case. The communication throughout was excellent — they sent me photos before any refinishing began. The end result is a watch that looks carefully loved rather than polished into oblivion. Exactly what I wanted. Worth every baht.

Three watches, three journeys
A 1960s Longines that had not run in twelve years
The situation
A client brought in a slim Longines dress watch from the mid-1960s — her father's — that had been in a drawer since it stopped running around 2013. The movement was dry, the mainspring was suspect, and the dial showed some light foxing near the twelve.
The work
Full movement service with mainspring replacement. The dial foxing was assessed as stable and the client preferred to leave it — a sensible decision given the watch's age. The crystal was replaced with a period-appropriate mineral glass. Total time: four weeks.
The outcome
The watch returned running at +4 seconds per day — within normal range for a movement of that age. The client was pleased to have the dial left as found; its slight age made the piece feel more honest. The written record now accompanies the watch.
A mid-century pocket watch with a broken pinion
The situation
An estate piece — a Swiss pocket watch from approximately 1948 — arrived with a broken third-wheel pinion. The calibre had not been in production for decades and no replacement parts existed in the market. The client had been told it was unrepairable.
The work
The broken pinion was measured and a new one turned on the lathe from appropriate brass stock. Full movement clean and service followed. The case was cleaned but not polished — the original surfaces were intact and did not need intervention. Time: seven weeks.
The outcome
A watch that could not run now keeps time. The client, a collector, was particularly pleased that the case and dial were left untouched. The watch joined his collection with a full restoration record and photographs of the fabricated part.
A daily-wear automatic with bracelet problems and a marked case
The situation
A client brought in a stainless automatic he wore daily. The bracelet had a stretched link that made the fit uncomfortable, the clasp had become stiff, and the case showed deep scratches on the lower lug. The movement was actually running well.
The work
The client chose to replace the bracelet with a quality leather strap rather than replace the original steel — a practical decision that also looked good on the case shape. The case was lightly re-brushed on the satin surfaces; the polished bevels were left alone. Clasp cleaned and adjusted. Time: ten days.
The outcome
A watch that had become uncomfortable and looked tired came back looking considered and wearable. The client commented that it now felt like a different watch — in a good way. He has since returned for a movement service on a second piece.
